Configure SSH access for MagentoAttribution models and how to use themTracking for Magento 2
Before the Eyk team can set-up server-side tracking for your store, two steps will need to be taken:
- Install the Stape Magento 2 plugin from the Adobe commerce marketplace
- Add a new user for Eyk in the Magento admin environment
We’ve written down the steps for both below.
Instead looking for the steps to add Magento 2 as a source in Eyk? Take a look at this page
Install the Stape plugin
Eyk partners with Stape.io , the leading hosting provider for server side tracking, to deliver you world-class, first-party tracking that seamlessly integrates with your existing setup.
Start your setup by installing the Stape Magento plugin from the Adobe commerce marketplace.
Not installing the plugin yourself? Share this link with your Magento developer and ask them to install the plugin for you.
As soon as the Eyk team has access to your Magento admin environment, they will test if the plugin is correctly firing all tracking events.
During installation of the plugin, please ensure to properly test the existing functionality of your online store before releasing to production. While the Eyk team will test if the plugin has been installed correctly, it’s difficult for our engineers to spot when something else is working differently than before.
Create a new Magento user for Eyk
Step 1: add a new user
In your Magento 2 admin environment, go to System >> Permissions >> All users. Click on the Add New User button to add a new user for Eyk with the following details:
- User Name: eykdata
- First Name: Eyk
- Last Name: Data
- Email : tracking@eykdata.com
- Password: Choose and enter a secure password
Make sure to select a strong password to protect the account.
Step 2: assign roles to the new user
Next assign a role to the new Eyk user that has at least the following Role Resources:
- Stape plugin resources: all resources related to the installed Stape plugin should be added to the role
- Clean Cache Action resources: both Flush Cache Storage and Flush Magento Cache resources should be added to the role
Step 3: share login credentials
After creating the account in Magento, share the username and password with your onboarding lead at Eyk using a secure method, such as a password manager, to ensure the information remains protected.
Not sure how to securely share the credentials? Don’t hesitate to ask your contact person at Eyk for help!
