The Eyk team sets up server-side tracking for your Magento 2 store. Before they can start, you install the Stape plugin and create a Magento user for Eyk.

Before you start

You need:
  • Admin access to your Magento 2 environment.
  • Someone who can install a plugin from the Adobe Commerce Marketplace: you or your Magento developer.
Setup has two parts. First you install the Stape plugin, then you create a Magento user for Eyk.

Part 1: Install the Stape plugin

Eyk partners with Stape.io for server-side tracking.
Install the Stape Magento plugin from the Adobe Commerce Marketplace. If you do not install the plugin yourself, share this link with your Magento developer and ask them to install it.
Test your store before you release the plugin to production. The Eyk team checks that the plugin fires all tracking events, not whether the rest of your store still works.
Once the Eyk team has access to your Magento admin, they test whether the plugin fires all tracking events.

Part 2: Create a Magento user for Eyk

1

Add a new user

In your Magento 2 admin, go to System >> Permissions >> All users and click Add New User. Enter these details:
  • User Name: eykdata
  • First Name: Eyk
  • Last Name: Data
  • Email: tracking@eykdata.com
  • Password: Choose and enter a secure password
Choose a strong password to protect the account.
2

Assign a role

Assign a role to the new Eyk user with at least these Role Resources:
  • Stape plugin resources: all resources of the installed Stape plugin.
  • Clean Cache Action resources: both Flush Cache Storage and Flush Magento Cache.
3

Share the login credentials

Share the username and password with your onboarding lead at Eyk through a secure method, such as a password manager. Ask your Eyk contact person if you need help with this step.
